2021 - A note from our CEO

Can you believe we are almost halfway through the 2021?

With 2020 firmly behind us, I am reminded of a quote I read over the New Year period, “Dear 2021, I know we have just met but I have a feeling we are going to do great things!” and great things, we most certainly are set to achieve.

2020 saw us all challenged both mentally and physically. I am proud to be a part of a team that has not only demonstrated a very high level of resilience and commitment to their work, but have been integral in providing positive support to others in the shared workspaces we operate in.

Our combined successes have resulted in a 25% growth in paid working hours for our staff which has seen the appointment of an additional 16 staff across our enterprises.

2021 also sees Ability Enterprises celebrate our 10th year in business. Our continued growth and successes would not be possible without the unwavering support of our clients, Toowoomba Regional Council, QBuild, Carers Queensland, Toowoomba Grammar School, Clifford Park Racecourse and The Royal Hotel.

We look forward to our continued growth and exploration into a circular economy which will result from our most recent partnership with Envorinex, a company helping to sustainably improve Australia's environmental footprint by collecting, reprocessing & remanufacturing waste plastic into 2nd life products. This relationship compliments Ability Enterprises commitment to the environment, sustainability and our desire to influence systematic change, addressing the three pillars of success, Social, Environmental and Financial.

Thank you to our clients, our stakeholders, our suppliers, our supporters and last, but not least our staff. Without your collaboration and support, it would not be possible to achieve our sustained growth.

Ability Enterprises is well positioned for future growth over the next 12 months. The National Mental Health Commission 2020 reports “elevated levels of long term mental ill health as a fall out of COVID likely to affect a significant percentage of our population”. Now more than ever we need to be looking to grow our Enterprises to provide supportive work environments for our communities.

The steadfast support of our Board of Directors and our Management Team are all ready to continue to strive through 2021 head on, accept the challenges that this year of worldwide recovery may bring, and ensure that Ability Enterprises continues in the trajectory of the past 10 years, serving the community and “giving people a second chance through employment”.
